The only French banana is grown on family farms in Guadeloupe and Martinique by 550 independent producers. After 20 years of good agricultural practices -crop rotation, fallow, biological control...-, our bananas are now a refuge for many species. There are up to 200 earthworms per m², more than 200 species of insects -Cihence study 2015-. Now, it is natural predators that control banana pests and protect our crops.

The 550 producers cultivate, on a volcanic soil, an exemplary banana with unique flavors.
They produce 220 000 tons of French bananas, 70% of which are marketed in France and 30% for export. These men and women are all driven by the same project: the passion for a fruit and the search for best cultural practices in the respect of men and the environment.
As the largest agricultural employer in the French West Indies, the banana sector accounts for 10,000 direct and indirect jobs. 90% of our employees work on permanent contracts: French bananas defend our social model against international competition.

To recognize the Guadeloupe & Martinique banana, just look at the sticker or ribbon affixed on the fruit: an orange stamp, surrounded by blue white and red.
Hosted under the Guadeloupe Pavilion in Saint-Malo since 3 editions, in 2022, the Guadeloupe & Martinique Banana becomes Official Supplier and the Official Banana of the Route du Rhum Destination Guadeloupe.
